Easiest and Hardest part of unit 3!
Today my group met for the 4th time. It was a good meeting. We all had our parts that we said we would bring. So far I think our project is going really well! I would say the hardest part about the project would be my contributions. It is not just me I will stress out if I don't have it on time it is my group members as well. I want it to be good and not embarrass my self in front of them. I think the easiest part of it would be that its fun and its not all about me. I get to hear other peoples ideas and know that I am not alone in it. I really like my group members and our ideas. We all get along and its been fun so far! Yay! Have a good Thanksgiving!

2008 concession and victory speeches
While I went back and re-listened to the victory and concession speechs of Obama and McCain I was noticeing that they both said very respectful speeches. I really enjoyed McCain's speech especially. He was not bashing Obama at all and he was very focused on the future of America. He lovese this country and made it very obvious. He brought out Obama's grandmother, which at first thought could be a little weird, but in the end I felt like he was just being sencere. He developed alot of ethos with his respect for what the outcome was and blaming it on him. The audience was the people of Arizona as well as the whole United States of America, as it was televised. The people shown on TV watching him seemed to really respect him and understand him well. I also looked at the video of Palin on webiolography on Ecollege. This interview was very interesting to me. I thought she stayed in contol and really just wishes the best future for America. In the end, I feel that all the candidates were truly in it for the future of the country and the people. I thought McCain's concession speech was one of his best speeches. It ended up leaving him on really good terms with America.

John Kerry's Concession Speech 2004
I choose John Kerry's Concession Speech from the 2004 election. He made his speech at his home town in Massachusetts. Most of his speech consists of thanks yous, thank yous, and more thank yous. He told his speech in a very mature and educated manor. He used good grammar with short sentences. I think this makes his speech very effective and to the point. He creates a lot of pathos with thanking them, as well as addressing everyone and telling them to hang in there. His ethos are obvious, as he is the loosing candidate from the election. They are also created by him saying things could not have been done with out all his family and his partner John Edwards. The logos are brought out more him excepting that Bush has won but he will still be there with the people. This speech, to me, is a very good speech and very caring. He is polite to Bush, his audience, his family, and his partner. He has excepted the results and says he will still be there to help all the people that helped him.

Beginning Unit 2
My topic for unit two begins at Universal Health Care. I broke it down like this :
Universal Health Care
why we need universal health care?
What changes would be made to have it Universal?
what people need it to be universal?
Why do they need universal care?
What will the universal health care consist of?
What will happen to doctors and insurance companies?
Will health care be as helpful when it is universal?
European countries and Canada have experience with the issue, as they do have universal health care now. This new health care system would affect many different people from the poor where it would benefit to the doctors and insurance companies who man loose a lot from this plan. Obama is talking a lot about making health care universal within his first two years of office. Some primary sources I would use would be doctors and citizens of European countries and Canada to see what they think of health care being universal.

Top 10!
Top Ten Reasons Why Sarah Palin is a Good Vice-Presidential Candidate:
1. She has amazing vision- I mean if she can see Russia she should be able to see the future status of America!
2. She is a woman so she should be able to multi-task raising her five children, her grandkid, her marriage life, and the United States of America.
3. Miss Wasilla is just one of the awards that Palin has won to better qualify her for Vice-President, it means she has to have some talent!
4. She stands by her beliefs-this made obvious by her pregnant teenage daughter matching up with her pro-life beliefs
5. Relates to a lot of people including PTA and Hockey moms and don’t forget the Joe Sixpacks.
6. Can talk loud and clear so all can hear being a running mate of a senior citizen this is vital quality.
7. In the past she has done a good job of getting bills passed to assure a pipeline will be built in Alaska all the way to Timbuktu. With this advancement that will happen in 2017 and her 2 years of in-office experience she seems ready!
8. Her international experience consists of her numerous days at IHOP.
9. She will even be able to be in two places at once thanks to Tina Fey!
10. Being nominated a MILF by the teens of America should get the rest of the population to vote for her.

Is it funny?
The humorous argument that I am "drawing" (or will attempt to draw) will be able Sarah Palin and how if McCain dies she will be in office. I think this is a very funny topic if you make it funny. Since death can at no time be funny I need to be sure not to cross the line that we talked about in class. I want to draw it just right where the point is that Sarah Palin could be president some day...good or bad? You can decide that. I think this could seem funny to both parties. I am not 100% sure this is exactly what it will be about as I am still trying to piece it all together. For sure it will be a cartoon and it will have something about Palin in office and some of the possible things she will do.

Humorous Argument
McCain’s Economic Plan For Nation: 'Everyone Marry A Beer Heiress' is the name of the video I chose to write about it. I got it from the The Onion website that April had suggested for us to look at. It was one of the first ones of many that I saw but I ended up going back to pick because it was stuck on my mind. This article actually made me laugh but I was sure how truthful it really was. Especially since they kept saying "quote" and then something like you need to find yourself a beer heiress. It seems so crazy that he would say something and they just make this point so funny. They make you feel so dumb for siding with him and you end up laughing at yourself. The humorous articles can be lots of fun but I feel they are very dangerous as well. I would tend to suggest to people never to choose an opinion off of a humorous argument just cause they can twist the way you want to think and its so natural especially because you are relaxed due to the laughing.
