Hi! My name is Elsa Dithmer and I am a sophomore at TCU. My family does a lot of moving around so I actually moved from San Salvador, El Salvador to TCU last year. I speak English and Spanish. I really love going to the beach, being with my friends, and laughing. I have 3 sisters who I love to be with as much as I can. My major is Spanish and my minor is Education.
I enrolled in this class not only because it is required but also because I really would like to improve my writing skills. I went to a bilingual high school and the English department was not as strong as it could of been. English is not my strong subject but I wish it was. I am hoping to make writing easier and more fun for me by the end of the semester. I am already excited just about the blogging part! Right now the type of writing I do is minimal. I write in a food diary, I chat online with friends, texting, and making lists (I like to be very organized).
Politics is not my favorite thing in the world. I have never really gotten into them to be completely honest. I have not lived in the United States my whole life therefore my facts on US politics is slim. I will tell you that it is amazing to see the difference in politics across the world. For example, in El Salvador everyone is very worried about the next election there because they are afraid the communists will win. I am very excited that I am able to vote and I have a feeling this class is going to help me make my decision as make me register to vote!
I believe my blog is making the argument to inform everyone about myself. I am letting you know what I like, how I feel about certain things, and where my beliefs and myself come from. I am a very easy going person and I believe that my blog shows that and that itself is an argument. My blog is not trying to change any ones mind but it will be professional and mean something to me.
I have read and understood the course syllabus. I completely agree with it and will abide by it

It's really interesting to think about how other countries are worried about a communist being elected to office and we're worrying over whether it will be a Democrat or a Republican! We are so lucky in America! I hope that this class will also help me make my decision too. And I make a lot of lists as well!
Hey Elsa, I think it is so cool that you decided to come to T.C.U. How did you pick here over everywhere else you could have gone? Where were you actually born? I absolutly love talking to individuals that have lived out of the country for any length of time. Well you definately chose the right spot.
I am fascinated by your experiences around the world. I think that your life in El Salvador will provide a very interesting point of view in your papers and class discussions. I'm exited in taking this class so it will help me decide who I want to vote for too. Also, have you lived anywhere else? I love to travel and I would like to here all about it/
